DiSTEP Articles of Incorporation Article 2
Purpose
As a specialized organization responsible for planning and evaluating policies aimed at scientific and technological innovation and regional industrial development, DiSTEP leads efforts to transform the innovation capacity of Daedeok Innopolis into regional resources, and to discover and foster future growth industries. Furthermore, DiSTEP contributes to regional innovation that extends beyond industrial innovation to enhance the quality of life for citizens.

Science and Technology Based
Regional innovation and convergent innovation ecosystem for new industries

- Establishment of an integrated governance system and development of mid- to long-term plans for the promotion of Daejeon's science and industry
- Planning of regional innovation strategies and fostering of regional science and industry to lead region-driven innovative growth

- Strengthening and linkage of regional innovation capabilities through collaboration among the city, DiSTEP, and regional innovation institutions
- Establishment of a convergence research innovation platform for the activation of the convergence research ecosystem and the promotion of commercialization

- Review of the similarities in city investment projects and performance analysis against duplicate investments and investment efficiency
- Establishment of a feedback system based on effectiveness analysis of projects and performance analysis

- Design of a new paradigm to strengthen the international position of Daejeon as a science capital
- Establishment of information infrastructure to enhance accessibility and sharing of science and industry data
